Well Hello There

Welcome to Beyond The Grommets: the wonders, wanders and what-nots from The Gift Wrap Company Design Studio. Catchy huh?! We are a diverse group of eight cheeky young ladies who design all the products found in The Gift Wrap Company’s range (lovingly referred to here on out as TGWC, I hope you can appreciate the short and sweet!).

Referred around the company as “The Boston Studio” in actuality we are not in Boston proper but rather about 40 miles west in a town called Hudson. Day in and day out we work together (and quite well I happily report) to keep the product line fresh, be innovative and most importantly to create fun designs you all will love to see adorning our products.

So please check in and enjoy our ramblings while we attempt to inspire, educate and maybe even enlighten about the little bits and bites that happen
beyond the grommets.

REAL LIFE GIFTING: GIFT BASKETS

There are so many occasions to make a gift basket: Wedding and Baby Showers, Welcome and Congratulations Gifts, Fundraisers and Charity Events…everyone loves a gift basket! Recently, I had the pleasure to assemble a gift basket for a friend of mine who has moved into a new home.TGWC_gift basket 1

I love putting a nice gift basket together! Picking a theme and really going all out is such a fun shopping experience. Bed Bath & Beyond has everything you need to assemble a very lovely bath basket. To get my friend’s guest bathroom ready for guests, I chose a set of fluffy towels, a bathmat, body scrubber and scented candle.

Using our Cello Wrap in Golden Stars, Foil Stamped Gift Wrap in Golden Bird & Branches, Gold Gift Tissue, Metallic Gold Bow, Glitter Tags and Wide Grosgrain in Seaside TGWC_gift basket 2

Go the extra mile – add ribbon, bows and wrap to dress up each individual piece for a truly spectacular presentation.

Arrange the gift items – placing the tallest in the middle. Stuff gift tissue all around to make sure everything stays in place. TGWC_gift basket 6

Wrap it up – pull the Cello to the center and secure. I find a twist tie or elastic band works best; you’ll cover it with something prettier in the next step.

Finish it – with a pretty bow and tag! Secure the tag during the middle step of tying the bow for a seamless look. TGWC_gift basket 8

Love Baskets? We have lots of Cello Wrap to choose from and even a ready to use Clear Cello Basket Bag. Alternatively, use our Giant Gift Sack to keep the contents of your basket a surprise! This oversized bag can fit hard to wrap gifts of all sizes, and is a HUGE time saver when you’re rushing to the party.

I hope my friend loves her housewarming gift basket. I’m already thinking up the next theme…how about a Coffee Bar gift set–with everything you need to start your morning right? Or a Wine Basket…for your evenings? What’s your favorite way to make a gift basket?

As the Creative Coordinator at The Gift Wrap Company, I spend my days planning our trade shows, styling theme shots for our catalogs and a number of oddball things in between. I love experimenting with new ways to use paper and ribbon because the possibilities are endless! By the end of a good day I am usually covered in glitter and have tape stuck somewhere to my body.
