Move over bows! It looks like tassels are ready to take over the top spot as the perfect way to finish off a gift. Here at the studio, we are old pros when it comes to making tassels and wanted to share the quick and easy way we make the ones you see in our catalogs.
Next, pick up the cardboard and start winding the twine around it. Keep adding layers until it gets to the size tassel that you want (I wrapped the twine around my cardboard at least 100 times).
After, slide the twine off of the cardboard and thread a piece of twine through the top loops and tie a knot.
Once the knot is tied, grab the roll of twine again and wrap some around the top of the bundle. You will want to wrap it a few times to keep your tassel secure.
Finally, take your scissors and cut the bottom loops to make a straight edge.
Now that your tassel is completed you can attach it to your gift and sashay off to the party! Remember to get creative with your tassels, using a different type of twine or ribbon can create a fun effect. A tassel made with the Raffia Eggs or Jute Cord would be so adorable!
