Memorial Day Ribbon Windsock DIY

Photo 2

Memorial Day is a great way to kick off summer with a family cookout or pool party, but it is also a day to remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice while fighting for our country. Show off your support and American pride with this red, white & blue ribbon windsock.

1

First, you will want to gather all of your materials. You will need ribbon, a wooden or wire hoop, jute cord and scissors. I used a variety of ribbons including Red Ticking Stripe, Turquoise Herringbone Twill, Red In Stitches Grosgrain, White Grosgrain and Red Luxury Satin Ribbons.

2

After cutting your ribbons to be about 3 feet in length, you will take a ribbon and loop it around the wooden hoop. Repeat this step until the entire hoop is covered. You can stick with the patriotic red, white and blue pattern or switch it up to make your own.

3

Once all of your ribbons are attached, tie the jute cord onto 4 sides of the hoop then tie them together at the top to create a knot.

Now you can hang it from a tree or porch and watch as it beautifully flutters in the wind! Also don’t forget that it can be hung up for the 4th of July  too. Hope you all have a safe and wonderful Memorial Day!
